Briefly Aleppo Soap: Aleppo Soap, first introduced to Europe by the Crusaders in the 11th century, is one of the oldest and most valuable soaps known in history. For this reason, it bears the title of the ancestor of soaps. What makes Aleppo soap special is its traditional production that has not changed for centuries and the fact that it is made by using Olive Oil and Bay Seed oils together without using any preservative additives. These natural oils ensure that Aleppo soap has high moisturising properties and can be used on all skin types.
Olive oil contains high amounts of vitamin E, vitamins A, D and K; calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur, magnesium, small amounts of iron, copper, manganese and many minerals useful for the body. Thanks to this content, it moisturises, nourishes and protects the skin. Olive oil is also used in the treatment of skin diseases, removal of blemishes on the skin, slowing down the signs of aging, acne treatment and make-up removal.
This wonderful oil is rich in vitamins and minerals that are extremely suitable for skin care. Laurel oil is effective in combating hair loss and strengthening the hair fibre. It revitalises the hair and makes it stronger and shiny. It also cleanses the scalp and eliminates dandruff naturally.
In a large cauldron, olive oil is saponified by boiling it with water and soda for about 20 minutes. Then the oil from the bay leaf and seed is added and the preparation is thoroughly mixed. The resulting paste thickens and turns green.
Keep the thickened dough in the moulds to harden. After it has hardened sufficiently, soap bars are obtained by cutting.
The resulting soap bars are left to cure in a place out of the sun for 9 months until the soap turns golden. The cured soaps are stamped and ready for use.
