In the 1970s in New South Wales Australia, our founder, Eric White, set out to share the power of Tea Tree Oil with the world. He tested over 300 tea tree species and found Melaleuca alternifolia produced the highest quality oil. He knew which plant to grow, but now he needed the land. Eric began lobbying the government for a crown lease to develop the first commercial Tea Tree plantation. Several years passed, and in 1976 the crown lease finally arrived on a Thursday...and Thursday Plantation was born.
