What does an oil cleanser do?

Oil Cleansers offer a deep cleanse without stripping skin or disrupting its microbiome. Oil attracts oil, and most of the gunk we want to get off our complexion is oil-based. It is important to note oil cleansers must be applied to dry skin.

When should I use it?

Our Oil Cleanser can be used daily, morning and night. It's gentle enough not to disrupt your sensitive microbiome but tough enough to remove daily build-up, makeup, and excess oils. If you only wash your face once a day, always opt for night.

Do I need to double cleanse?

We firmly believe this is unnecessary with our product. If you’d like to take it a little deeper, we recommend adding our Olive & Lotus Exfoliant once a week. It is meant to be mixed directly into the Oil Cleanser for a customizable exfoliation.

Do oil cleansers clog pores?

No! Oil Cleansers help unclog pores. What is clogging your pores is often hardened sebum (the oil our skin naturally produces) or excess product - an oil based cleanser will attract these impurities and help to decongest your complexion.

What makes Wonder Valley Oil Cleanser different?

Our oil cleanser is formulated with a (gluten-free) oat protein that acts as an emulsifier. It gives our cleanser its inimitable thick consistency, and once it comes in contact with water, it transforms from honey to milk and washes clean away.
